About me
Adele King
Counselling Psychotherapist

Experience
I'm a qualified member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I follow their ethical guidelines and receive regular supervision myself and attend training to ensure that you receive the safe and caring therapy you need. I'm passionate about helping others with their self-care and well-being and having received therapy myself in the past, know the importance of looking after our mental health and developing emotional resilience.
As well as my private practice, I've previously worked in the Manchester region as a staff counsellor for the NHS and as a couples therapist for Relate. Working as a mental health practitioner in the charities section for Place2Be and Relax Kids also gave me valuable insights into the challenging issues that young people face with their mental health.

My therapeutic approach in my individual and couples therapy work uses techniques from the Person Centred, Psychodynamic and CBT. I also incorporate tools such as the EFT and Rewind Technique for those clients who have experienced PTSD and traumatic stress. My practice is welcoming and embraces all demographics and diverse backgrounds.

I find a good way to relax is taking my beautiful 'furbaby' pooch Penny for gentle walks as well as participating in yoga nidra and the gorgeous sounds of gong spas!
